Shamor tells us to guard what is precious. We protect the relationships that sustain and encourage us, the values that guide us, and the sacred spaces where we are invited to gather. We create communities in which people feel seen, cared for, and safe enough to be vulnerable. At Beth Sholom, we strive to be that kind of community—a place where we care for one another, celebrate and grieve together, and lift each other up.
Zachor commands us to remember. We remember where we come from, the generations who have carried our tradition before us, and the stories that continue to shape us. We remember not only our history, but also our purpose now and into the future.

Member Cemetery Visit
Tuesday, September 15th, 1:30 p.m.
With the heaviness of this year and in the middle of our holiest days, let’s pay our departed ones a visit. We visit the cemetery during this period of reflection to reconnect with the lives of those who have passed and carry their memory with us as we enter a new year. Join Rabbi Amanda Russell at Home of Peace Cemetery in Colma for a short memorial gathering. Afterwards, individuals will be given time to visit the graves of their loved ones with their own time and space.

We will not be mailing paper tickets this year in an attempt to make check-in smoother and reduce our use of natural resources. Members in good standing do not need tickets or to register in advance. Members can purchase tickets for their guests online and they will be added to the check-in list. Check in will be located just inside the main entrance on 14th Avenue.

Security guards and Beth Sholom staff will be stationed around the building and at the entrance to welcome guests. All bags are subject to being checked as you enter to increase our ability to create a safe environment for all who gather here. We encourage you to leave any non-essential personal belongings at home to keep the check-in process moving as quickly as possible.
