Do you think meditation might be for you but you aren’t sure? Have you tried it and might be open to trying it again? In advance of the “Rededication and Celebration” of Makor Or (25 years!), join Rabbi Dorothy Richman for an introduction to Jewish meditation. We’ll explore what Jewish meditation is and practice in a gentle and supported way. All questions welcome!

There will be two opportunities during Shabbat: Friday night and Saturday morning.  All are welcome, no experience needed.

Deepen your Jewish spirituality through meditation, learning, and community.

Founded by Rabbi Alan Lew z’l and Norman Fischer in 1999, Makor Or continues to offer deep Jewish teaching and practice to the Congregation Beth Sholom community and beyond, both in person and on Zoom. Norman and Rabbi Dorothy Richman regularly offer day-long Jewish meditation retreats before holidays and at an annual Shabbaton. When we gather, we sit, walk, chant, learn, and create spiritual community together. Everyone is welcome, no need to have prior experience in meditation or Jewish ritual.
