CHESED V’TZEDEK

Please join us in expressing our Jewish values of chesed (loving kindness) and tzedek (justice) through ACTION, while building community, learning, and having fun.

Our Chesed v’Tzedek Committee meets on the third Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. to plan food drives, educational opportunities, and community events. We would love to have you be a part of our communal effort to give back and make positive change.

    Take action this summer and join the Chesed v'Tzedek Committee for some postcard writing events!  Let's encourage minority voters in Georgia and Texas to exercise their democratic rights. Upcoming postcard writing evenings:

    We encourage you to join us for evening minyan at 6:00 p.m. right before you write. Postcard packets are also available if you prefer to write cards from home. Please contact chesed@bethsholomsf.org to receive the necessary materials.

  • Backpack Drive

    It’s back-to-school season, and youth in our community need our help to be ready. The Chesed v'Tzedek Committee and Congregation Beth Sholom is supporting a BACKPACK DRIVE for Huckleberry, LYRIC, San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and Homeless Youth Alliance. Please donate backpacks and school supplies by Friday, Sept. 11 to support the incredible young people in San Francisco.

    Shop the Amazon Wish List  OR Donate $25–$50 to Huckleberry to help them purchase filled backpacks. Every contribution helps a young person start the school year feeling supported and empowered. THANK YOU for helping us kick off a wonderful school year.
