Meet Our November Family of the Month: The Schneiers

Meet Spencer (29) and Baylee (30) Schneier, who joined Beth Sholom in July! They first heard about our community from their friends Clara Brenner and Raf Burde, who encouraged them to check us out.

Baylee, a fairly new convert, says she loves Beth Sholom “because of the congregation — every single person we’ve met has been kind, welcoming, and makes me excited to continue learning about and pursuing a Jewish life.” Spencer appreciates that Beth Sholom stays true to the belief that a good life is grounded in the values of the Torah.

Their hope in joining is to help grow and strengthen our community.

Spencer’s favorite holiday is Yom Kippur — especially the last few hours of services, when the prayers feel most powerful and meaningful. Baylee’s favorite holiday is Passover. When it comes to food, Spencer loves hamantaschen, while Baylee can’t resist freshly baked challah.

Fun fact: Spencer and Baylee met while working in Mumbai, India, and were married in July 2024 in Iowa, where Baylee is from.
