The Beth Sholom Center for Lifelong Jewish Learning

For generations, CBS has been the place where Bay Area families discover their unique Jewish path. Now, we're ready to take the next bold step.

Our education building is critical to our mission, but it has not been renovated since 1964 and is in need of significant repair. We have worked with Herman Coliver Locus Architecture (HCLA) to develop plans to re-invigorate the building. This transformation will unlock our full potential: expanding our celebrated preschool on the first floor, and creating beautiful, accessible spaces for youth and adult learners on the second floor.

This isn't just a renovation—it’s an investment in sustainable growth. We are currently bursting at the seams and at full capacity! The expanded facilities will generate meaningful tuition revenue while providing the modern, functional environment our award-winning programming deserves. You can read more about the project here and here is a construction FAQ.

Within the same physical footprint we occupy today, we will amplify our impact by delivery world-class lifelong learning opportunities for members and the larger Bay Area community.

  • Leave Your Legacy on Our Memory Wall

A stunning Memory Wall of personalized nameplates will welcome students to our new building. For $1K, dedicate a nameplate to someone special — family, children, or a beloved memory. Your 65-character message becomes part of our school's permanent story, supporting young minds for generations to come.

  • Name a Space, Shape the Future

Looking to make an even bigger impact? Our new building offers special naming opportunities that will define our institution for decades. From the preschool Art Studio and hands-on Learning Farm, to a Teen Lounge or the Central Playground – these signature spaces become your lasting gift to lifelong learning.

If you are interested in naming a space, please reach out to our Development Chair Clara Brenner at clarabrenner@gmail.com.
