Meet Our January Family of the Month: the Tartakovskys
Meet our January Family of the Month: Joseph (43), Tahlia (40), Margot (11), Nava (9), and Jane (6)
The Tartakovskys joined Beth Sholom this year after getting to know the community through visits, longstanding friendships, and even the Brandeis bus stop.
They’re drawn to the warm, easygoing, tight-knit atmosphere led by the wonderful Rabbi Amanda Russell. They’ve also enjoyed getting to know Adam Lowy and Ben Lieberman — both in shul and beyond.
The family hopes to enjoy a welcoming, spiritual home where the kids can roam freely while the grown-ups daven, reflect, and share a meal.
Their favorite Jewish holiday is Passover - a wild, ecstatic production in their home, even more so than Purim (see the photo below from Beth Sholom!).
Their Jewish “superpower”? An insistence on treating all human beings equally.
A fun fact about the Tartakovsky family: They own more stuffed animals than your family — possibly more than any family, ever. Joseph is always open to rehoming a few; reach out for a complimentary adoption (minimum 50). Don’t worry — they’re all Jewish, and you’d truly be doing him a mitzvah.
