Meet Our September Family of the Month: The Levins

Meet Marc, Jennifer, Asher (9), Sophie (7), and Falcon, their 10-year-old dog!

Beth Sholom has been part of Marc's family for generations. His grandparents, Janice and Charles Pivnick, and his parents, Gary and Patricia Levin, were lifelong members of the congregation. In fact, Marc has been connected to Beth Sholom his entire life — and his Bar Mitzvah was the very first officiated by Rabbi Alan Lew at Beth Sholom!

Today, Marc and Jennifer are proud to continue that legacy with Asher and Sophie.

For the Levin family, Beth Sholom is both a connection to their family's history and a vibrant community for the next generation. Asher and Sophie love participating in Youth Education and celebrating the Jewish holidays throughout the year. As parents, Marc and Jennifer are especially grateful for the caring and dedicated religious and Hebrew school teachers who help nurture their children's Jewish journey.

Pesach is their favorite holiday. They look forward to it each year as a celebration of both tradition and renewal. And, as they point out, “Any holiday where we can enjoy matzah ball soup is one to celebrate!”

The Levin family hopes to continue passing on the values of tikkun olam and Jewish tradition, ensuring that their children feel the same deep connection to Beth Sholom that has been part of their family for generations.
