TU B’SHEVAT 5786

Celebrate the New Year of Trees with Beth Sholom!

  • Torah on the Trails

    Sunday, February 1, 10:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.
Bay Area Ridge Trail, Presidio Golf Course Entrance

We will start our journey at the Bay Area Ridge Trail and embark on a spiritual journey through the trails using our senses as a guide.

Torah on the Trails will illuminate our relationship with nature, reconnect us with the benefits that are derived from trees, rededicate ourselves to preserving nature. Join Lifelong Learning Moreh Derech Adam Lowy and Preschool Director Dale Kleisley as we walk, pray, taste, smell, listen and sing to celebrate the trees!

Community members are encouraged to stay at Presidio Wall Playground for lunch after Torah on the Trails.  Please bring a packed lunch/picnic if you would like to join the post walk festivities.

  • Seder at Beth Sholom

    Sunday, February 1, at 6:00 p.m.

Tu B'Shevat marks the New Year of Trees. As we leave the darkest days of winter behind, we will pause to reflect and reset intentions.

Join us for a participatory seder, led and designed by congregant and psychotherapist Juliette Hirt.
This modern ritual is grounded in millenia of Jewish history and tradition and it will include poetry, prayer, reflection and sampling of ritual fruits, nuts & wines. In addition to the ritual foods, a light (but festive!) meal will be served.
