Glide Memorial Church in the Tenderloin serves 2000 meals a day, 365 days a year to the homeless and those who are food insecure. We reserve 20 spaces for CBS members, ages 6-106, to help serve lunch (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.) each month.
Last year, a group of 10 Beth Sholom families participated in a pilot project at Glide, learning with Rabbi Michael Lezak, Glide Community Rabbi, about the Tenderloin community through a Jewish lens and volunteering on a monthly basis. Now we’re extending this mitzvah opportunity to you!
Please join us for this important work taking our Jewish values of justice and righteousness outside the CBS. This will be an ongoing event, and RSVPs are required to attend. Future dates will be posted on the Beth Sholom events calendar.
