MAKOR OR: A Center for Jewish Meditation
Join us for meditation in honor of Rabbi Lew (z”l)
It has been ten years since the passing of our friend and teacher Rabbi Alan Lew. We will mark the occasion by doing the practices he loved most, and that were foundational for his spirit, silent sitting and walking meditation, and prayer. Rabbi Dorothy Richman, Rabbi’s Lew’s disciple, and Norman Fischer, his lifelong friend and colleague, will offer brief teachings and appreciations.
Rabbi Lew(z”l) and Norman Fischer founded Makor Or at Beth Sholom in January 2000, to bring the clarity and depth of meditation practice into our Jewish lives and observance, providing a path to the spiritual and personal transformation that Judaism can effect in our lives.
All are welcome, no previous experience with meditation, Hebrew, or prayer is necessary.
Please respect our members with asthma and do not wear scented products, even natural scents, to Makor Or programs.
