Opening #1: Marketing and Communications Associate
Compensation: $26 to $29 / Hourly
Employment Type: Part-Time
Position Summary: Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of all of CBS’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
Write, create and disseminate graphics, photos, and copy that authentically connect with membership and the general community. Primary distribution channels are: Website updates, email blasts, social media, mailings, supplement materials (flyers, window displays, ect.).
Develop and manage CBS social media strategy to deepen engagement across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and drive increased inbound traffic to CBS website.
Develop and manage CBS marketing/communications calendar.
Work with the rabbis and Executive Director to identify long-term communications goals and to design strategies that accelerate CBS growth and revenue.
Work across the organization (including the CBS Family Preschool to ensure that CBS branding is streamlined and consistently/accuratelyrepresented at all community and member touch points; this includes managing the CBS style guide for all communications, and managing all email templates, handbooks, publications, and program descriptions.
Maintain and develop relationships with other organizations and partners for outreach and cross-promotion.
Write, edit, and proofread all official CBS materials (e.g., board letters to community, membership package, grant proposals, reports, etc.).
Lead media outreach on specific projects; major event promotion, liaison with lay leaders, etc.
Manage CBS MailChimp account. Create all CBS email blasts, reply to community inquiries, solicit and follow-up with CBS community groups, and monitor online analytics to inform communications planning.
Writing and/or copy edit official correspondence from CBS (e.g., major fundraising appeals, board updates, special notices, letters from employees to vendors, etc.)
Manage the CBS style guide and ensuring that all staff are using it for any official document, letter, etc.
Website: Update public calendar and promote events. Write bi-monthly blogs. Ensure public-facing content is consistent with internal plans.
Monitor online analytics to inform communications planning.
Social Media: Create or find regular, interesting content for CBS Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts (and occasionally LinkedIn). Monitor social media analytics to inform communications planning.
General Promotion and Communications: Communicate with staff and congregants about materials/events.
Increase promotion of CBS and its programs on outside community calendars.
Some graphic design, photography/editing, and image prep for the website, weekly Shabbat handout, social medial channels, and general distribution.
Create and manage all program or event registration/ticketing pages.
Manage the distribution of print and digital flyers.
In-House Print Materials: Update and distribute weekly materials.
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Minimum of 2 years’ of post-college experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
Experience working with volunteers is desirable.
Knowledge of Judaism is a plus, but not required

Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator (minor needs - big plus if skilled with graphic design)
A successful candidate in this role has the potential to become full-time, with added medical, dental and vision benefits.
This position is not viable for telecommuting, and expected to work at least 20 hours across four days per week.
