Shabbat-Tots Lead Teacher

Do you love working with little ones (birth to 5-years-old) and planting seeds for Jewish identity?

Congregation Beth Sholom is looking for a Shabbat- Tot Lead Teacher to create a warm, welcoming, and nurturing environment in our weekly Shabbat morning program for a small group of infants through preschoolers (with a teen assistant).

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and facilitate curriculum for weekly Shabbat morning program from 9:00am until noon, in collaboration with the Director of Youth Education. Activities may include music, storytelling, and Jewish identity building. All programming will follow guidelines for Shabbat observance in accordance with Conservative Judaism. Challah and fruit will be provided for snack each week.

  • Accompany children to pre-scheduled monthly Tot Shabbat services (facilitated by our music specialist and the Director of Youth Education).

  • Communicate with parents at drop-off and pick-up about specific needs of their child and insights into how they spent the morning.


  • Demonstrated experience with young children

  • Demonstrated knowledge and passion about Jewish education

  • Early childhood education background is a plus

  • Excellent communication skills, warm and engaging teaching manner

  • Punctual, dependable, and adaptable

  • Positive feedback from references

  • Fingerprint clearance

  • BA preferred
