Shabbat and Holiday Programs for Kids
At Beth Sholom, children and families are an integral part of our community. We plan many events around the Jewish holidays and Shabbat to educate and entertain-and to introduce our congregants to one another.

PJ Shabbat and PJ Havdallah
Held once-monthly where preschool-aged children and their families come to a special Shabbat service dressed in PJ's. In the winter months we meet on Saturday evening to learn about Havdallah (a ceremony marking the end of Shabbat); during the spring and summer we come together on Friday nights to welcome Shabbat. Services are led by Rabbi Micah Hyman and musical guests. Singing, dancing, art projects, and potluck dinners are all part of the fun.

Club Shabbat
For children in first through eighth grade, Club Shabbat meets every Saturday at 10 a.m. The time to have fun celebrating Shabbat with friends, the gathering includes plenty of free play time, a Shabbat service and peer-to-peer discussion of the Torah portion of the week.

Munchkins & Mishpacha
A Shabbat service on the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 11 a.m., for children from birth to five years of age and their parent(s).  Munchkins & Mishpacha has its own siddur – a basic structure of the adult service, with colorful stuffed Torahs for the Torah parade, a discussion of the holidays or other events marking Jewish life as they occur, a story, and songs.
The High Holy Days are a very special time for kids here at Beth Sholom. Our popular Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur program includes stories, games, learning and community-building, giving kids a great holiday experience and parents an opportunity to participate in our other services. Holy Days are a great time to be a kid at Beth Sholom!
