Congregation Beth Sholom exists as a source of inspiration and support
for people interested in Jewish life, culture and tradition, regardless
of their level of observance or knowledge of Judaism. There is a place
at Beth Sholom for people seeking their Jewish roots, as well as for
those who already feel entirely at home in a synagogue community. Beth
Sholom aspires to cast a new light on Judaic thought and practice, and
strives to create a Jewish life that is in tune with our modern
lives. How do we arrive at a place in life that has us feeling alive and engaged, grounded and moved – and hopeful about the future? Like many synagogues, Beth Sholom has religious services, cultural and educational programs for children and adults, preschool and religious school, social action groups, holiday observances, social gatherings and activities, special events and more. So how is Beth Sholom different? At Beth Sholom, we offer a fresh take on 4,000 years of tradition. How? By recognizing that no single approach to Judaism fits all. And by getting to truly know each of our members, and understanding what they hope to gain and how they hope to grow. For congregants to become fully engaged in their own religious experience, we need to know them so we can be supportive. To connect to Judaism and make it meaningful in our lives, it should feel honest and accessible, and it needs to be manageable in these hectic times. And though we strive to illuminate the varied paths a person can take on their own spiritual journey, there is strength in numbers. We want to fill our sacred space with members and seekers of all ages, lifestyles, cultures and backgrounds to sing, pray, be, learn, mourn, love, lead, question, grow, share, ponder, teach, laugh and celebrate.
